Russia’s war on Ukraine: the role of nuclear deterrence

During its war on Ukraine Russia demonstratively uses its nuclear deterrence threats not only to coerce NATO from interfering in the war, but also tries to use nuclear signals to coerce the West from supporting Ukraine with the weapons supplies. The presentation will explore Russian nuclear deterrence policy, its advantages,  failures and the threats of the deterrence disruption.
