The Geopolitics of Covid-19

What are the wider geopolitical shifts brought by the Covid-19 pandemic? Beyond simplifying grand narratives affirming that ‘Covid has changed the world’, how can we best understand the various ways in which the responses to the pandemic have, indeed, transformed political and geopolitical relations? The seminar will examine these transformations at a variety of scales, from ‘vaccine geopolitics’, to the implementation of mobility restrictions through ‘Covid passports’, to the weaponization of disinformation.
