„Turkey, a new gatekeeper on the European borders?”

 

Summary: Following the Syrian crisis, Turkey has become the country with the largest number of migrants in the world (4 million). This situation has important consequences for this country at a time when it is experiencing a deep transformation of its political system. It also has major effects on relations between Turkey and the European Union (EU) and its member states, while Ankara’s candidacy for European integration has become bogged down. How to analyze the migration pact signed by Turkey and the EU in 2016, what are its humanitarian, political and strategic effects?
